INVITATION TO HALCHEM XI
Dear Colleagues,
We take great pleasure in inviting you to participate in the 11th International Meeting on Halogen Chemistry (HALCHEM XI), which will be held at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD USA) from the 3rd to the 6th September, 2024. HALCHEM XI follows the tradition of a symposium that involved and connected experts in halogen chemistry since 2002 when the first edition was organized in Sardinia by Professor Francesco Devillanova. The first four meetings have been organized in the south of Europe [in 2004 (HALCHEM II, Sardinia, Italy), 2006 (HALCHEM III, Ioannina, Greece), 2008 (HALCHEM IV, Barcelona, Spain), 2010 (HALCHEM V, Cagliari, Italy). HALCHEM VI moved to India and was held in Bangalore in 2012. HALCHEM VII returned to Europe (Częstochowa, Poland in 2015) and then moved to Asia with HALCHEM VIII (Inuyama, Japan) in 2017. These meetings attracted more than 150 scientists covering a different areas of interests connected with halogen chemistry. A unique friendly atmosphere that characterized all the previous editions facilitated interactions between the participants creating the bases for several collaborations. This tradition has continued with HALCHEM IX (2019) hosted in Perugia Italy at the University of Perugia and HALCHEM X (2022) hosted in Łódź at the University of Łódź.
The format will combine invited lectures and submitted presentations (oral and poster). Contributions from the scientific community working in any areas of halogen chemistry and biology (such as synthetic, biological and theoretical aspects, spectroscopy, supramolecular chemistry, halogen bonding, hypervalent halogen compounds, medicinal chemistry, atmospheric chemistry, etc.) are welcome.
