Congratulations to Professor Tom Kempa for being awarded the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Young Faculty Award! Awarded annually to approximately 20 early career scientists who are within the first 10 years of their independent career, the award supports rising stars in junior faculty positions across all disciplines in science, engineering, mathematics and the social sciences. This multi-year $1,000,000 award will support the Kempa group’s studies of the non-linear mechanical and phase change properties of 2D molecular frameworks.
