Xin (Jason) Zhang, a current undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University and working in the McQueen laboratory is apart of the AY22 PURA cohort! Their project is “Synthesis and Characterization of Mn1-xFexP Single Crystals for Spintronic Applications”. Working along side Prof. McQueen and mentored by chemistry graduate student Tanya Berry, Jason’s research centers around finding superior replacements for the storage of electronic information based on topologically protected magnetic spin textures known as Skyrmions.
