Prof. Fried Receives New Innovator Award from NIH

Dr. Stephen Fried became an assistant professor in the department of chemistry in summer 2018. Since then he has collaborated with numerous professors, departments and institutions as he and his lab pursue research based around the uncovering of molecular mechanisms behind genetic diseases and neurodegeneration to create the foundation for a sustainable biologically-derived material culture in the future.

Recently, Dr. Fried received the New Innovator Award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for his project titled ‘Watching Proteins Fold (or Misfold) In Vivo with Mass Spectrometry‘.
