The Cheng Group recently received a grant from the Theoretical Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics program of the National Science Foundation. The three-year award entitled “Accurate Electronic and Vibrational Structure Calculations of Metal-Containing Small Molecules of Importance to Precision Measurement and Laser Cooling” supports the application of quantum-chemical methods being developed by Cheng group to the frontiers of AMO physics, including precision testing for fundamental physics and laser cooling of molecules.
