Congratulations to Liwei Zheng of the Greenberg group for his recent publication in Angewandte Chemie which was selected as a Hot Paper by the editors. In collaboration with the Su lab of Beijing Normal University, the group resolved a mechanistic controversy regarding the oxidation of 2′-deoxyguanosine, the most readily damaged native nucleoside in DNA.
