We are delighted to announce that Timothy H. Warren will be joining the Johns Hopkins Department of Chemistry as professor and chairperson on July 1, 2025.

Tim comes to us from Michigan State University (MSU) where he served as the Rosenberg Professor and Chairperson from June 2021 to present. He served in a similar capacity at Georgetown as chairperson and professor from July 2017 to May 2021. Tim’s research’s overarching theme is “Chemistry for a Healthy Planet”, with individual programs that develop environmentally friendly new methods for organic synthesis, explore the interconversion of nitrogen and ammonia as carbon-free fuels, and decode ways that biology communicates using nitric oxide as a molecular messenger.
