Three PhD Students Receive Honorable Mention in International Policy Memo Competition

Eric Peterson, Simran Saund, and Benjamin Stephens—PhD candidates in the Department of Chemistry—were part of a Johns Hopkins team that received an honorable mention in the International Policy Memo Competition held by the National Science Policy Network in conjunction with the Journal of Science Policy and Governance. Their memo was titled “Baltimore Clean Air Act; the need for a new waste management system in Baltimore.” The competition’s goal is to catalyze the engagement of students and young researchers in current policy debates around issues relating to science, technology, and innovation.
